Tailored Tech designs and delivers program evaluation for many of the projects we manage. The results of our work measuring the health impact on student and school behaviour of an educational program was selected for presentation at an international conference attended by academics and clinicians from all over the world. We're very proud of it.

Sophia Kelly of Tailored Tech has managed the ReachOut Psychosis program since early in the program’s development and oversaw many improvements, along with initiating and formalizing evaluation of the program’s impact on knowledge and behaviour among students and schools. Her evaluation work was recognized in a poster presentation at the International Early Psychosis Intervention Association conference in 2012 in San Francisco, an academic and clinical conference. The results of the evaluation show that this presentation has measurable affects that shorten time between onset of symptoms, identification and referral to effective supports, something that has been shown to have a direct impact on how fast and how completely youth with this brain condition recover.

This program uses very sophisticated entertainment tools to promote the accurate, science based message that psychosis is a brain condition that requires immediate medical attention, and provides youth with the tools they need to get that help quickly. Speed in recognizing and treating youth psychosis has been shown to make a huge difference on outcomes.

The abstract of her presentation is on page 70 of the document linked here.

Need a website that looks good when viewed from a phone or ipad? Have a look at our mobile-friendly website portfolio

An increasing number of people are accessing websites via their mobile devices. According to Statcounter, as of January 2012, 8.03% of the visits to North American websites come from mobile devices, up 2.25% from the previous year. In the US, 25% of mobile users do not access the web in any other way. Women are the largest users of mobile web, and significant mobile web browsing use spans the age range from 18-60.

Can people clearly read the information on your website when viewing it on a phone or tablet? Does it look good or are there hard-to click links, tiny text and skewed graphics? Do you need a mobile web friendly version of your website to appeal to mobile using customers? Tailored Tech offers web-friendly web design.
Website writing is more like newspaper article writing – it is most effective when the most important information is at top, and the reader clicks on links to get more details. As well, a clear call to action helps ensure that people visiting your site take action to contact you, buy or donate.

Tailored Tech can translate your existing materials for the web or write new ones from scratch that achieve results.

Trust Tailored Tech to make your website do the job it was intended for.

Do you need your website to:

Provide a way for people to get in contact with you?

Establish credibility with potential customers or donors?

Answer frequently asked questions to save reception staff time?

Provide documentation or information you might otherwise have to mail or email out?

Showcase your products or services?

Encourage donations and support of your organization?

Our design process starts with listening closely to your answer to this question:

Who are your ideal web visitors (demographically) and what do you ideally want them to do?

Once we know that, most of the design can follow from this answer.

From there we are guided by your organizations’ brand. If you already have a logo, colours and font that fits your marketing goals, your website will need to match and complement these. If you don’t, then we can discuss your options.

Based on your brand and logo, we will recommend a colour scheme and font face and size. We can then discuss a header image, or create one using existing graphics or logo. For more detailed information on the choices we will make together about your new website please visit our anatomy of a website page.

Do you want to use Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or RSS to help you reach and stay in touch with people? We can discuss their fit for your organization with you and set them up to complement and match your brand.

Cost

Cost depends not only on the complexity and size of your site, but on the process we use to create and approve the design and content.

It is helpful to think about:

1) Do you already have a logo, specific fonts you use, and a specified style for your organization? Does it fit the profile of the customers you would like to visit your site and what you would like them to do? If so, using this existing brand will not only keep your marketing materials consistent, but simplify the website design process and reduce unnecessary costs.

2) Do you have a single individual in your organization who is empowered to make final decisions on the look of the website or does a group of people need to reach consensus to approve a design? Delegating this approval to one individual will speed up the process and reduce costs.

3) Do you have existing content for the pages or will we be providing content writing or editing services? If you are providing the content for the pages, keep in mind that in general introductory pages of your site will be brief, with more detailed pages linked off of it. The text is more similar to a newspaper article, with the most important details listed first, as they are the most likely to be read. This is because readers have a shorter attention span when reading a website than when reading printed text. Text will need to be concise to be effective, with links to more detail if required.

In general, the ballpark cost for a custom website design and setup is $4000-6000. We offer some bare-bones setup service packages using your choice of a pre-existing template that start from $600 as well. We would be happy to discuss options that fit your budget or funding.
